Friday is here, and I’m wondering what you’ve got on deck for the weekend? Jordan is officiating another wedding, this time in L.A. So I’m looking forward to soaking up some west coast vibes and reading this book by my crazy talented–and now famous–friend, Jason Reynolds. But first, here are a few things worth sharing as we head into the weekend…

We spent last Friday exploring City Island — a place Jordan has been telling me about since I moved to NYC. It was an overcast day, so not entirely ideal, but the rain held off long enough for us to enjoy our seafood by the water and some ice cream from a cute shop in the middle of the (very small) town. And also, all the hydrangeas!

Speaking of exploring NYC, I absolutely love this video. I’m so frequently in awe that I get to call this place home.

On Monday night, we had some friends over to enjoy a steak dinner, which was a gift Jordan got from my mom for Father’s Day. I’m not even a big red meat eater, but all of us agreed that those wagyu steaks were the truth. If you’re looking for a luxurious gift idea for someone who’s both inclined to chef it up and likes steaks, consider this.

I’m totally smitten with this Brooklyn apartment. And apparently they furnished the entire place for less than $4,000.

I often get on Jordan for his Amazon addiction, and I swear I’m drowning in brown boxes. But we recently got the Amazon Dash Wand, and it’s kind of amazing. You scan the bar code on things in your cabinet, or just tell it what you need, and it fills an Amazon shopping cart for you. I see more brown boxes in my future.

On Thursday, I took Jameson to an outdoor jazz concert in Madison Square Park, and he loved it. If you’re in the NYC area and want free, fun activities during the week, they have all kinds of things going on.

And speaking of music, this song from the new DJ Khaled album is perfect for dancing with your kids.

Happy weekend!
