I recently put together a summer capsule wardrobe, packing away 75% of my closet and committing to only wear the items in my capsule for 30 days. Today I’m sharing an update on what I wore during week one, so you can get a sense of how this whole thing is working.
Before I jump into sharing what I wore during the first week of my summer capsule, can I take a moment to say posing for these photos was way harder than I anticipated. Friends, I am not cool. I know this. And after you see my collection of quasi-awkward poses, you will know this as well.
But alas, here we go…
As a reminder, here’s everything that’s in my capsule (some of my actual items vary slightly).
I have a total of 38 items in my summer capsule, and for the first week, I ended up wearing 11 of the items. So far, I’m loving how this is going — I’m still really happy when I look at my closet, and for the most part, I picked out what I was going to wear each day the night before, which saved me time.

July 3, 2017 at 10:17 pmThanks, Sherri! It took me about 3-4 hours to really pull things out of my closet, pick what I wanted to keep, and pack other things away.
