Father’s Day Gift Guide

If you’re stumped for gift ideas for Father’s Day this year, I put together a little guide made up of things I’ve given Jordan in the past and suggestions from some of the fathers in my life. Here’s to the dads!

Jordan’s love for Apple products is kind of a running joke among all who know him, and he couldn’t wait to get his hands on these AirPods, $159. While I was skeptical at first, these headphones have great sound quality and come in handy when we both want to listen to something at the same time (no cords to struggle with) or when Jordan wants to watch tv, and I need the room to be quiet (they connect to our Apple TV). P.S. – these are back-ordered online, but they get restocked in the physical stores, so check the Apple Store app to find some near you.

 

Speaking of listening to things, consider gifting dad with an Audible Membership,$45 for three months. He’ll have access to 180,000 audiobooks and he can jump between the audio version and Kindle version of books without missing a beat.

 

 

 

Swaggy socks, three pairs for $36, are a great way to add a subtle touch of style to an outfit.

 

 

When our church staff was discussing plans for how to celebrate Father’s Day at church, one of the dads suggested that we have a plate of bacon waiting in the lobby. Apparently moms get flowers and dads get strips of bacon. We won’t be handing out bacon, but it did get me thinking that a great gift might be a special bacon of the month club, $150, or even some other kind of monthly subscription for the thing he loves — food, beer, cigars, clothing or otherwise. A subscription is a gift that keeps giving.

I’ve linked to this shirt a few times, because Jordan owns it in three colors and loves all of them. I originally bought him one last summer, and we had a little dryergate shrinkage fiasco, which left Jordan depressed, because he could no longer wear his favorite shirt. Well, apparently, it’s not just Jordan who loved this shirt, because Zara brought them back this season in way more colors. Just note that Jordan insisted I tell you to watch your dryer settings or just skip the dryer altogether.

 

 

Beards are the thing these days, and if dad likes a good shave for the purpose of keeping things shaped up or for bucking societal standards and rocking a bare face, this shaving kit, $120, is a crowd-pleaser.

 

 If dad needs some new kicks, I can’t recommend the adidas NMDs, $140, or the adidas ultraboosts uncaged, $180, enough. Super comfortable, and we constantly get questions about the ones we own.

 

Need something last-minute or even more thoughtful? Consider downloading these printable coupons, $3, and filling them in with things you know Dad would love — a pass on doing his least favorite chore, some quiet time, etc. These might be the perfect thing for the kids to give to dad.

 

 

 

And finally, this is the gift I gave Jordan for his first Father’s Day, and it’s only gotten better with time. He loves this bag, $328, and gets a ton of compliments on it (and he finds reasons to wear a backpack, just so he can keep it on). It not only looks great, but I spent a good amount of time searching for a leather backpack that would fit his 15″ MacBook, and this one fits everything he needs while still being really compact.
