I don’t know about you, but I, for one, am very happy that it’s Friday. Add to that, tomorrow is my birthday, and I’ve already started celebrating with a quick trip to Philly with one of my best girl friends.
More on that and other things worth sharing from the week…A sweet friend whose birthday is also tomorrow gifted me with some delicious cupcakes. As you can see, Jameson didn’t hesitate to help himself, which mostly means licking the cupcake and giving me instructions on how to eat it. Last night, my friend Femi and I met in Philly (a great midway point between NYC and D.C.), and we kicked off our quick trip with dinner at Zahav. This place serves modern Israeli food, and has won all kinds of awards. The service was stellar (our menus even said “Happy Birthday Jessica!”), and the food was unlike anything I’ve had at other restaurants. I can see why it’s so popular.Among other things I’m loving…
I sent a friend some flowers via Bouqs, which puts together beautiful arrangements wrapped in burlap. If you’re looking to send flowers to someone special, use this code for $15 off your first purchase.
If you’re someone who’s into storytelling and you haven’t heard of The Moth, you should absolutely give their podcast a listen. I recently came across this video from one of their story slams, and it’s funny, painful, and beautiful all at the same time.
I don’t watch very much tv, but I’m good for putting on HGTV and letting the episodes roll as I do other things around the house, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen every episode of Fixer Upper at least three times. This week I read “Beware the Open-Plan Kitchen,” and while the article is a long one, it definitely gave me some things to think about.
And finally, I came across this nightgown from Target, and I basically have been trying to figure out how I can not only wear it to bed but wear it out of the house as a dress. SO comfortable. And there are various color options, and even a nursing option if that’s your stage of life.
Have a great weekend!
