It’s hard to believe we’ve reached this moment, but the fact remains: today was Jameson’s first day of Pre-K 3. We’ve been preparing him for this day — telling him that he’d stop going to his beloved daycare and start going to the “big school.” We got him a new backpack, prepared him to make new friends, and introduced him to the concept of wearing a uniform.
A few people asked if I cried or was sad, but I’m honestly just overwhelmed with positive emotions. I’m excited for him, because he’s so excited. I’m so proud of his eagerness to learn, his willingness to embrace change, and his ability to take on new challenges. I’m really looking forward to seeing him engage the world around him in new ways.
He was basically running in circles and shouting, “I’m going to the big school!”
Can’t wait to see how we all grow in the coming school year!

September 15, 2018 at 8:26 pmSo sweet!! Love his little backpack (mostly that it isn’t crayola/neon colors like so many kid’s things) – where’s it from? Thanks!

September 17, 2018 at 9:33 amThanks! And yes, I’d been stalking his book bag for a year before I bought it — determined for him to have something different. :-) It’s from State Bags, which is a great company, because they donate a backpack to a child in need with each one you buy. Jameson has this one.
