Happy Friday, friends! I spent last Friday in bed dealing with a nasty sinus infection, and now that I’m finally on the mend, I’m looking forward to enjoying the weekend ahead. Before I get to that, I’ve got a few things worth sharing from the week…My super talented friend, Jason, is an author and happened to have a stellar interview as a guest on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah this past Tuesday. The way my bedtime is set up, I had to catch the online clip the next day, and you should watch it too.

On a note related to writers of worthwhile books, this week I worked my way through the first half of Helene Cooper’s Madame President: The Extraordinary Journey of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and I’m loving it for the way it’s exposing me to a part of the world and an important figure I knew little about. I can see why it was on the 2017 ‘best books’ lists of NPR, The Washington Post and others.

This week we used a new app called Seated, which sends you Uber, Starbucks, or Amazon gift cards every time you eat at restaurants included in the app. Pretty cool, and just what we all need to feed our Amazon addictions. If you want to give it a try (it’s available in a bunch of major cities), use the code Jessica763 to get an extra $5 reward after your first meal.

I need to find a way to book this DJ for some future event. (P.S. Doing the swag ‘n surf at my cousin’s wedding might have been the best workout I got in 2017. #quadsburningliiiiiike)

If you’re curious about my ‘Love Anyway’ sweatshirt, it’s crazy comfortable and is made by an organization called Preemptive Love, which serves refugees in Iraq and Syria. Definitely worth checking out and supporting.

Hope you have a great weekend!
